Sham Tseng in Alhambra closing, replaced by?...

Thanks to Kristie Hang of the (626) Foodettes for this scoop. Ah Sham Tseng, in the location former Gourmet Island and The Kitchen at 203 W. Valley Blvd. is closing. Last night I drove past and saw a banner that might have indicated what was coming soon, but it was dark and unlit, so I couldn't make it out (normally, I would have parked and walked past, but I was running late).

Next time someone is in the area, could you check it out and see what it says?

  1. New Bay Seafood. See separate post.

    1. This location, for some reason, is cursed. Baccali next door is packed.

Agreed, something wrong with the location.

I used to eat at the kitchen quite often for dimsum. At the time, I don't think i could have found a better bbq duck in the whole area.

Perhaps it's the curse of Jumbo, which was one of the most popular Chinese restaurants around, back when there were only a handful of Hong Kong style seafood restaurants in the SGV.
