Thu May 04 14:54:30 -0700 2006 0 Petra 1 491225 It's been a couple of years, but a surprise find for me was a place called, I think, the Country Kitchen, on 29 Palms Hwy. Everything I had there was really good, I even had them make sandwiches to go for the drive home. It's not fancy. Really not fancy, but homestyle food. I even would have tried their more ambitious dishes if I'd had the time, but to start I stuck with the diner fare. Crossroads Cafe had decent California style pub food.
