a gem find of French Caribbean in Upper West Side!

I loved the ambiance, the food, the price, the ... everything at A Cafe in UES! French-Caribbean cuisine, BYOB, prix-fixe appetizer and entree for $25 (between 6-8pm, where else can you find that kind of price in NYC?), the entire experience run by two great gents. Granted I don't live in NYC and haven't eaten in all of the hottest, hippest places in Manhattan (but I know great food when I taste it), A Cafe provided the most delicious meal and wonderful setting for a friends' get-together dinner. Escargot had a beautifully fragrant sauce, really enjoyed the pheasant pate, lamb sausages, and Wild mushroom ragout ... loved the Roast duck leg confit and Rabbit sausages. Bring your own corkscrew, if you wish, to save the Al, owner/waiter/all-around awesome guy, the time while he is busy working the front of the house. Just go once, and you'll need to go back again, and again ... and again. Bon appetit!

Thanks for the tip. How long were you in New York and where else did you eat?
