I am looking for a good restaurant in Salem, Mass. I would prefer New American cuisine (fresh local veggies, local meats and shellfish, etc.), shellfish, or cheeses.

Thanks in advance.

I have become a big fan of Brodies Seaport Cafe in the Pickering Wharf area of Salem. The steak tips, turkey tips, and the nightly seafood specials are fantastic. A fine addition to the Salem restaurant scene. Not quite as swanky as the other recs but worth a try.

I'd put 62 in between 5 Corners and Blue Ox. The cauliflower app is awesome.

The Blue Ox in Lynn (one town over) is exactly what you are looking for. It is outstanding.

Also Five Corners Kitchen in Marblehead (also one town over) is excellent.

I can't think of any place in Salem itself that is on par with these two.
