Carmen at The Danforth in Portland, Maine

I am a Portlandian (Maine, not Oregon!), but have not eaten at the relatively new Carmen at The Danforth. Looking for a nice new place to have a birthday dinner--usually we'd go to Fore St., Petit Jacqueline, Bresca or Bar Lola for such occasions. Carmen sounds interesting so I thought I'd solicit opinions. Anyone have any? We're pretty open for innovative dining experiences and we expect quality.

We enjoyed a great birthday dinner at Carmen in late December. The service was great, the room is beautiful, and the food is amazing - very creative and delicious. I recommend it without hesitation. We even got a chance to chat with Carmen.
