Adios Papaya King

Drove by today, and it's closed.

It's a horrible location. If you're going to be at that location on Wilcox, you need a serious draw..... not hot dogs.

  1. Its drunk food and its located somewhat near the clubs just not enough drunk people I suppose.

      1. Lasted longer than I'd expected. I wonder if they'd asked ANYBODY who lives in the area before leasing the location. I went there once; couldn't find a seat, and drove home with my dog. Hardly worth the trouble.

Also: nobody cares about New York City cachet (constant L.A. Tines notwithstanding).

I'd hoped the Cuban restaurant in the same location would have fared better.

I went to that Cuban place a few times, and I also liked it. I think there was a nightclub attached to it, which seems like the only way that location is going to draw the necessary traffic... although apparently it didn't work for the Cuban place either.

I got lucky, i guess, there was a parking space right in front at 7:00 on a hot august night. Would have rather had a dog from Chronies in East Los Angeles.

          2. If I'm in Hollywood, I prefer Skooby's!

Yes, Skooby's is light years better than Papaya King. I tried that location of PK once and it was vile.
