Puro Sabor - Top Peruvian in the SFV

lil mikey Mar 2, 2013 03:36 PM

After a one year absence, I tried it again and it's still tops. VERY fresh ceviche mixto with squid, shrimp, octopus and what seemed like sea bass. Served with corn on the cob with those huge kernels, as well as boiled white and sweet potato. Sprinkled with crunchy baked corn and topped with thinly sliced red onion. This is a refreshing dish that's filling but healthy. I need to work it back into the rotation.

I got it with the chicha morada (purple corn drink), which was also refreshing, with a slight spicy flavor... like faint cloves or something. I liked it.

if puro sabor was closer to me, it definitely would be in my regular rotation.

I very much enjoy their fried seafood platter - light, crisp, not greasy at all. Also the green sauce for the bread should be served with a spoon.

I really like Bonano's better. The service sometimes is a little too relaxed. http://www.bonanos.com/

Tried it for dinner recently based on posts here. Very good, better than good. We had: Ceviche, Lomo Saltado and the Pescado allo Macho. A lot of food for two, so we didn't try the celebrated desserts. Recommended.
