A tragic Loss

Yank Mar 2, 2013 02:21 AM

All of you who have eaten there will be saddened to learn of the death of Josie Couderc, chef & part owner, of Le Vieux Pont restaurant in Belcastel.

Josie And her daughter, Lou, were victims in the hot air balloon crash that happened recently in Egypt.

This was without question my favourite restaurant in France. Josie was one of the first woman chefs to earn a Michelin star and her food was wonderful. I have many fond memories of dining there.

We too love Le Vieux Pont, and I believe the owners are sisters named Nicole and Michèle Fagegaltier, along with Nicole's husband, Bruno Rouquier. Josie Couderc was the owner of another restaurant in Belcastel, Le 1909 -- at least she used to be. Whatever, still a tragic loss.

Thank you. I stand corrected. I had bad information & didn't check it out properly.
As you say a tragic loss in any case.
