Cornish Sea Salt vs Maldon Salt?

I found a recipe that I want to try that calls for Cornish Sea Salt...do you think I could use Maldon Salt instead (I have Maldon Salt already...) It's for the sprinkling on the top of the bread dough before baking...should I invest in some Cornish Sea Salt?

Maldon is fine for sprinkling on bread. Although if you want an even better British product, look out for Halen Mon. Comes from the North Wales island of Ynys Mon.

Oh dear, now I need to order that one, too :-) although from a quick search, I think I may be able to find that one in a specialty store here...thank you!

My Maldon salt is flat flakes and my Cornish sea salt is more tiny cubes, more the shape of Morton's kosher salt, if that helps your decision-making.

Oh, thank you, then it probably would make a big difference, since it's a topping on the bread. Any idea if I will be able to easily find the Cornish sea salt at the grocery store, or will I need to go to a specialty store?

Crushing the Maldon flakes should produce a close enough result?

I bought mine in England, at a supermarket, do not think I have seen it here, although to be honest I never looked since I have pretty much a lifetime supply. ;) FWIW I prefer Maldon.

I found a web store that sells it, along with a myriad of other salts! http://www.salttraders.com/
I just had to order it and a couple others...

I've found it here in NY in regular grocery stores, in the salt section. I got some Maldon smoked flaked salt that I am just starting to play with.

I grilled some salmon last night with the smoked, it added a very nice flavor. Let us know what you find to do with it!
