Southern style food in vermont

Hey my girlfriend's birthday is coming up and she absolutely loves southern style food (grits, mashed potatoes, biscuits, etc...). Is there any great southern style restaurant in Vermont that I can take her to? Help would be appreciated!

The Vittles Stop in Windsor has some darn good BBQ. Ribs, briscuit, pulled pork and sides.
Take out place only so have a nice picnic

Downtown Grocery in Ludlow takes southern cues and spins them into something a little more upscale and contemporary. Highly recommended.

If you live in Western Vermont and Saratoga NY isn't too far, you could go to Hatties. It's a go - to place for incredible fried chicken, jambalaya, catfish, collards, and all things Southern.
I don't remember if they have grits at dinner, but certainly at brunch.
We make the trip regularly from Manchester, VT.

Yeah, with the closure of River Run in Plainfield a couple years back I think Prohibition Pig in Waterbury is the best bet.

Prohibition Pig in Waterbury comes to mind. Don't think they have grits though!
