Perfect scones

Had breakfast with a friend at Stock in the Trump tower, his choice. I've been once before for lunch and the burger was excellent. My only complaint with the place is that it's over priced. I should add the eggs bene were a dud, placing them on a bagel cracker made no sense as far as soaking up the yolk or eating it with a knife and fork.
Back to the scones, they were moist without being under done, rich and didn't need the addition of jam or butter, and were golden brown on the outside. I could tell a lot of butter was used in the recipe. I wouldn't change a thing. My feeling is this is what all scones should be like.

      I'd also like to know since I walk by there everyday going to work.

      My fav scone right now is the Apple scone from Little Nicky's. I don't know if they make it or get it from somewhere else but I really like it.

        I go to Little Nicky's every once and a while, but I've never seen their scones (I guess I'm too busy looking @ my doughnuts being Do they have the apple scones every day?

          I haven't tried their doughnuts yet! I don't know if they have it all the time but when I got there they were up on the counter near the cash.

            I looked @ their menu, and it looks like they're a regular menu item.

        No idea if they do take out. It is a hotel so it's highly likely they do whatever the customer wants.

      3. Oh their website is terrible. And trying so hard to be great.
        kwass, it looks like the breakfast is AYCE: "guests may help themselves to the table as often as they wish". So I don't know if they'd be set up to sell a non-hotel guest a single scone. But if you go up to the 31st floor to find out, let me know :)

        1. Yes, that's how all scones should be. Just leave it on the plate as is, breaking off bits to come to your mouth. No muss, no fuss.
