In town for a hooockey game next week :-)

Got primo tix to see the Flyers beat the shit out of the Penguins next week. Arriving Wednesday afternoon, and have already booked a table for 4 at Koo Zee Doo for dinner, thanks to the glowing reviews here (just beat out Zahav, which would've been my personal preference, but whaddya gonna do?).

The game itself is on the earlier side (late afternoon) on Thursday, so I'm thinking of a late lunch before we train it to the stadium where crappy & expensive food awaits...

Staying at Club Quarters. Sansom Street Oyster House is always a fave, but do you have any recs in the area for a nice late lunch, not too heavy?

We previously liked the dim sum at that Chinese joint near RTM, but that's a bit out of the way and I'm looking for something new....

Wasn't blown away by the fried chicken at Federal Donuts, tho it did take care of my hangover last time.

Thoughts, anyone?

One more question.... I hear that portions at Koo Zee Doo are rather large, and meant to be shared.

We're "only" 4 folks, none of whom are huge eaters, but we obviously want to sample a fairly wide array of dishes.

The gizzards, octopus gravy and vegetable salad, as well as the duck rice seem to be huge favorites of folks.

Are any of these dishes generally included in the 5-course tasting menu? Because if so, we may just end up going that route.

    TIA for any input :-)

How about ramen? There's Nom Nom Ramen on 18th near Market St.

Ooh. Nice one! It's been a while since I had a good bowl of ramen!

Getting something at DiBruno's would always be an option.

Yeah, that's usually our go-to stop (snausages!! duck fat! cheese! pickles!!!!) when we head out of town, so we'll likely stop in on Friday & grab ourselves a sammich to share.

Anything else you love in that area?

Well, you aren't far from Good Dog for a burger but I am not sure that doesn't fall into the "heavy" category. Matyson serves lunch until 2:30 so that might work.
