Better saving of CHOW 'history' to make personal Food Archives here on CHOW.

With good intentions trying to help make CHOW a better place for all with quality feedback.

1) Should be able to save good articles to our profile. There should be a 'save to profile' button at places like: http://www.chow.com/food-news/106414/the-pastrami-dilemma/ but is not there.

2) Similarly should be able to save videos to our profiles such as: http://www.chow.com/videos/show/chow-... and the option is missing.

3) Though the years I saved some discussions in case wanted to go back and review. Thought added to my profile (clicking on the star to make yellow in the upper right without commenting / responding in the thread). Now when try to go back to view those posts (or find them in my profile) MY SAVED DISCUSSIONS are no longer SAVED to my profile! And have to star them again to do so when remember already stared them once. Do not recall after many years here what discussions I lost. When did it change? WHY ARE MY SAVED DISCUSSIONS NO LONGER SAVED in my profile? It is very frustrating to users to loose information and waste past time spent. Makes one not want to spend so much time here contributing for free if the result is only time wasted.

Hope this helps give you CHOW programmers a few ideas for improvements. Is it just me or do others feel this way?

Please reach out to me if want help. When not in a kitchen I am an Electrical Engineer / programmer and 'hands on' project manager. In recent years most often work in the User Experience area with a focus of online improvements, mobile devices, apps, testing, and design (UX combines design, programming, validation, and human behavior).

I agree with you that having the ability to save content on CHOW would be worthwhile. I've seen the request come through Site Talk before. I've asked for the ability to save CHOW content myself.

My saved Chowhound threads are in my Following, Discussions tab within my profile. The tabs were recently renamed but the content remains there.
