Six million people in Los Angeles. My Vita mix 3600 "jar" had the nut which engages with the base break off. Is there a repair shop that can work on these old blenders? (or a shop which sells the retro appliances?)
If it is the retainer nut, check below for the part and tool to replace it -- that might be easier and cheaper than a repair shop:
FWIW, Costco has a high speed version for around $499. BTW, there's more like 10 million of us in the metro area.
