PORCHETTA TRUCK ALERT

One of Chef Evan Funke's partners informed me that Wednesday, February 27 (tomorrow) will be the last day for porchetta from the truck. They MAY bring it back, probably with a smaller, more efficient and better looking truck but that remains to be decided at a later date.
My advice, if ya likes some porchetta at the bargain price of $6, find em tomorrow!

Evan Funke said today approximately 4 weeks, though the porchetta sandwich probably won't be available for a while. He's going to put it on his lunch menu but they'll only have dinner service for the time being until they get into a good groove.

The truck today will NOT be at 26th and Pennsylvania Ave (Food Truck Alley), but will be at Ocean Park and 31st at noon, per http://twitter.com/bucatola/. Should hopefully be somewhat better parking.

Parking can be tough there on the street - if you cant find anything on 31st, I'd recommend just pulling into the complex and getting validated at Coffee Bean

Had it a few weeks ago, not as earth-shattering as I had hoped (too high expectations?) but still very good. Was going to go today but didn't have time. Will definitely try to be there tomorrow for lunch. Impromptu CH meet-up?

For $6 is was better than what I would have expected. It was no Lardo (portland) but it was good.

For what it's worth they told me Thursday was the last day.

No name, it's a really basic truck with (If i remember correctly) a pig spray painted on it. Look for the one with no fancy wrap.

Most lunches they are in Santa Monica where weinermobile mentions but check twitter to be sure.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is the truck's last day. However, they will only be doing their hamburger. Today is the last day for porchetta. They're stopping truck service in order to work on the restaurant, which is supposed to open at the end of March.

You are correct, Thursday will be the last day that the truck will be on the street (for the time being). But as I said in my original post, "..Wednesday, February 27 (tomorrow) will be the last day for porchetta..." and that is because they will NOT be selling porchetta on Thursday. They plan to offer the burger that the chef offered as a special at Rustic Canyon. Damn, now I'm gonna have to wait in an even longer line!

Don't know where they'll be tomorrow but they were at Penn Ave in Santa Monica 12-2pm today (Tuesday Feb 26th).
