Alternative to Matt's Big Breakfast in North Phoenix area?

We have only 1/2 day left here in Phoenix, and were thinking of calling in an order 1st thing in the morning, and going down to MBB and picking up breakfast for 3 adults and 2 little ones. After re-reading the reviews, we are thinking it may not be worth the 20 minute drive; and we're also not totally sure they'll accept a call-in/take out order.

We are near tapatio cliffs. The thick bread toasts and fresh ingredients look to be the real pluses of MBB. What would be second-best, and a closer drive in our area for breakfast?

Thanks!!

Scramble is well-regarded option up in that neck of the woods, but I don't have any first-hand experiences to relate to you.

If you're OK with a later start time (9am on weekends, 10 on weekdays), Los Reyes de la Torta is another possibility. They have lots of fresh fruit, fresh juices (and fruit- and juice-based drinks) on offer in addition to a good line up of tacos, tortas, and egg dishes that I would be glad to eat at any time of day. In case you're unfamiliar with Mexican food, I'll point out that the salsicha-style sausage at Los Reyes is akin what most Americans know as a wiener; if you're after something with a bit more spice (and a coarser grind), you'll want to go with the chorizo.

I went to Scramble about once a week, when I lived in the neighborhood. I had to get used to the "fast casual" service. I'd prefer full service for breakfast. Somewhere between 8-9am the line goes out the door on weekends. I think it's a good idea to study the online menu before going.
