Review of Table

Took Mr. FS to Table for a belated birthday celebration. Since we live in Wheaton with so many great places to eat we rarely get down to the district. This visit was well worth it. The space is nice--open kitchen, solid tables, nice accents, but the food was really wonderful. Started off with Washington state oysters (with a dash of lemon and their own sauce). Just amazing. Not as briny as Atlantic oysters but a real Wow. Received a free amuse from the chef--a simple fried goose egg on a puree of mushrooms--it melted in our mouths. Our mains were sweetbreads for Mr. and Moules for me. Both really very good. Gelato for dessert rounded out a great meal. We really liked this place a lot. It's a bit of a splurge but the quality of the food and the service were outstanding. Table has an excellent beer and wine list as well... Anyway, my two cents...

We're seeing A Christmas Carol at Ford's Theatre Sunday night at 7:30, and I just made a 5:15 res here. Looks like it's about a 1 mile walk, appx 20 mins.

Comments on Chef Frederik de Pue's Table welcome.
