Oscar night - Anyone doing anything special?

We're going to have small appetizers and probably pop a bottle or two of champagne. Cheeses, bruschetta, spanikopita, salami, proscuitto - can you tell a smorgasbord of things? LOL!!

What are you planning on? Maybe some of your things will inspire me to do something different, or add to my "creative" menu. ;)

Going to friends for dinner. I doubt they even know its Oscar night. I don't care though, thats what TIVO is for!

Oh, dear--I'm such a stick-in-the-mud! No special menu or party, but I told Mr. Pine he'll be eating muy early (we're on the west coast) since I want to see the red carpet. I don't much care who wins (I have seen most of the movies, however), but I love to see and critique the women's clothes (while wearing sweats and a ratty robe!).

I'm hosting a red carpet glam event -- my lady friends were instructed to dress to the nines.... so they *better* :-)

Fact is, we don't have many occasions to dress up anymore, so even though we'll be mostly sitting on the couch cackling at the actors' fashion choices, it will be done in style.

I've ordered a tray of shrimp purses and deviled eggs from Wegmans, and there will be tarte d'Alsace & mushroom turnovers from TJ's. Double cream brie and rustic paté, lemon bars for dessert.

My man has volunteered to be our cocktail dude for the eve.

Very much looking forward to it. Not sure if I'll watch the actual awards show.
