Cookin with Lenny's Smokehouse BBQ (Valley Spot)
Had the pleasure in finally dining at this spot after numerous friends told me about it! I live in the Studio City area just work in Chatsworth. It's hidden in a nicer part of Chatsworth off Lake Manor Drive. As you pull up you see the owner Lenny barbecuing outside on his cookers, already a good sign. As we walk in we stop to talk to him and she showed us the 2 most popular pork ribs: a raspberry chipotle glaze and a Whiskey smoked rib, the smell was out of this world! He was even barbecuing fresh salmon which a lot of tables were ordering too! We're now seated and ready for a beer, since they don't have a liquor license they let you bring your own wine or beer from the liquor store next store, no extra fee's. They even poured our beers in ice cold mugs too. Now we're ready to indulge in some grub. We started with the shredded pork potatoes skins which were delicious. For our main meal we each got the 2 different ribs and shared. It's hard to say which is better since they are both great just a bit more meal on the Whiskey cut. You get to choose one side and I was craving the waffle fries since I didn't read any outstanding reviews on the mac n cheese from prior reviews. The chili as a side looked tempting just that's a meal in itself. Since this is true BBQ we didn't even need to pour any sauces on these ribs, eat as is and pure perfection. For dessert we split the bread pudding & cheesecake brownie. The waitress said we should of gone with the berry cobbler, next time. Desserts were nothing to rave about, go for the ribs in my Top 3 best ever. Later in the evening, the owner comes in with his guitar and starts performing with a band and singers too. At least the Valley has a worth wild spot now to chow at.
Give it a try

April 5th and we just returned here for a lunch meal, it was outstanding, see photos, I cant rave enough about Krystal our waitress too, amazing customer service & a pleasant woman all around. She's also one of the waitresses that gets up and sings with Lenny's band. We started with this shrimp appetizer dish & bread you dip in the sauce, heaven! For my meal I had to go with the Whisky ribs again, fall off the bone and the glaze is enough, no need to add any sauces, give it a try! Stuart
