One decadent lunch near downtown?

I will be in D.C. next month and I am looking for a fine dining lunch place.
Any recommendations?

Price not an issue. Just looking for a place with great ambiance and good food. I am open to any cuisine, but preferably new American or French. It will be a weekday lunch.

Last time I tried Lafayette at the Hay Adams Hotel, and food was just OK. I was quite satisfied though, because I didn't expect too much for lunch and at least its ambiance was lovely.

Any other place you can recommend for me? Thanks!

  1. Perhaps Ardour (for French) or Ris (for "American").

Hi ipsedixit. Thanks for your recommendation.
      Adour of course!
Why didn't I think of that!

    2. I love RIS, but I'd add Marcel's to that list. (Adour sounds great, but have yet to go)

      1. I think there are a couple delicious options for you. Personally I would go to Equinox, J & G Steakhouse or Bibianna. All are wonderful restaurants with nice lunch menus.

        1. decadent lunch, downtown DC... what a wasteland.

problem is there are too many options.
