Babbo Saturday night reservations

Is it still as tough to get Saturday evening reservations at Babbo as it was a couple of years ago? I'm planning on calling at 10am a month in advance. Are lunch reservations just as tough? Thanks for your help.

Went for lunch today, Friday. The reservation was easy to get and the place barely filled up. You wouldn't know it was the same place. Food was wonderful though. Lunch is a great alternative if you can't get a dinner reservation.

I was able to make a reservation for a recent Monday evening just a couple of weeks ahead on open table. We wanted to go a little later than was available, so called the restaurant and was able to change the time. It was lovely!

Sadly, I have neither friends nor Amex. I will be visiting so I can't stop in.

How many people in your party?

I see cancellations on their Twitter feed sometimes but not really that often for Saturday night.

They seem to have last minute tables for 4 more often, as well, usually later in the evening. People canceling 2 tops last minute seems pretty rare.

If you really need 7-9pm for two, and it has to be a Saturday night, I'd say yes, don't take your chances.

Lunch is definitely easier, especially weekday lunch. But the menu for lunch doesn't have all of their "greatest hits," if you will.

Thanks, Kathryn. It will be a table for 2 around 6pm.

Just hate the idea of repeatedly dialing a busy reservations number. I have visions of calling Ticketmaster for concert tickets and dialing over and over to finally get last row in the far corner of the arena.

And, yes, I follow the twitter feed.

Are you in NYC or have a friend who owes you a favor?

They take reservations in person as well, last I checked.

              Use your Amex concierge.
