Vegan-friendly in Memphis?

I'm meeting family in Memphis and hoping to come up with a list of restaurants that can accommodate both omnivores and vegans (even if it's just one vegan entree). We're staying downtown but will have cars. Not looking for super fancy, as one of the people is a toddler ($20 per person is probably more than we'll spend on any meal).

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Memphis isn't a great spot for Vegan Friendly restaurants but we have a few. Most of these are in mid-town which is about a 10 minute drive from downtown.

Imagine in Cooper Young is all Vegan but if you are with people who aren't they may not be too thrilled with this spot.

Deja-Vu: www.dejavurestaurant.org - this is downtown but not in the core -- a little out of the way in a less than desirable neighborhood but the food is great. They are only open for lunch.

Fuel Cafe - www.fuelcafememphis.com/ - this is in midtown.

3 angels diner - www.threeangelsdiner.com/ - this is also in midtown but a little further away than fuel in the Broad arts district

There are a couple of thai places that offer vegan offerings downtown and in midtown: Thai Bistro and Bangkok Alley downtown and Bhan Thai and Jasmine in midtown.

I bet some fine dining places downtown can make you a vegan plate i.e. McEwens on Monroe, Felicia Suzannes, etc...

Also, places like Huey's serve veggie burgers

Another shout-out for McEwens on Monroe. We ate there Saturday night during a visit from the DC area and my wife had the "Trust Us Vegetarian Plate." It was a very generous assortment of fresh local vegetables, which she allowed me to sample. Each preparation was more tasty than the next (and I don't even like vegetables!)

For my part, I had a watermelon salad with arugula and feta, plus an amazing pork chop with andouille sausage stuffing -- so meat-atarians are well served there as well.

I'll be back in Memphis in a couple of weeks and look forward to a return visit.
