Great Sichuan on 3rd Ave. and 26th St. would work for you. There's a long thread here -

I only ate there once (so many restaurants, so little time) but I liked it fine.

          +1 on Phoenix Garden.
They rush you a bit, but still like the Cantonese dishes.

There are also two banh mi places nearby. Baoguette and Luu’s Baguette.

How is the Luu's Banh Mi?

I've had their buns, which I don't think they make, and they're not always fresh. I've been scared to try the rest.

Haven't tried it yet and can't compare to, say, Baoguette. The buns sound a little alarming if they are not fresh. What kind of buns are they?

Pineapple, coconut, sometimes pork buns, etc.
                When they're fresh they're fine.
