Polish Ukrainian or Russian Restaurant?

Looking for a restaurant below 14th St for annual specialty cuisine birthday meal celebration.

  1. You're in luck. The restaurant at the Ukranian National Home is exactly what you're looking for. Well made food, dirt cheap, in a pleasant atmosphere. Have a couple of pre-dinner drinks at the Sly Fox bar which is also located at the UNH.

    Second Ave. near 9th St.

    1. I'm a big fan of Ukrainian National Home, as already mentioned, and Little Poland on 2nd and 12th. Little Poland is BYOB, to boot.

Between the two of them, Ukrainian East Village in the Ukrainian National Home is more celebratory, with a somewhat faded old-world charm to the room and decor.
