Need this for an upcoming baby shower and half-birthday for someone who has had a lousy pregnancy and deserves a treat before the due date - salted caramel is one of her favorites - if can't find to buy will try to make but recipes are time consuming and it's one of those crazy work times - can you help?

    Also - looking for something with real crunchy bits of salted caramel rather than mostly icing/frosting

      Bobbette and Belle has some great ones. They do have some crunchy bits, but I'm sure you could request more if you were ordering a bunch.

        I would taste test these first, their style is real European buttercream, less sweet but a lot of it. If that's her thing, perfect. If she prefers a sweeter North American type cupcake she may not love these.

          think she would actually prefer bit less sweet and maybe less is more on amount of buttercream - thanks for the heads and will contact them

            One more (perhaps slightly anal) point - if you have to buy these in advance and store them in freezer or fridge, make very sure they are room temperature before serving. The icing is not good when cold IMHO (nobody I served them to liked them but I realized later part of the problem was they weren't room temp, although not obviously cold).

              And then there are those (like me) who just love European buttercream -- room temperature, cold, whatever -- and the more the better, hahaha.

                good point, because will have to get them earlier and freeze them

            will definitely be requesting more 'crunch' - recipe I saw cut small cakes in half and had crunchy layer in between with buttercream on top and some type of sweet-salty meringue - wish I had time to make them!

            d'lish does one--check their website to see what day they schedule them. . .
