tripe, tongue, or sweetbreads near UCLA?

Coming to UCLA from NY for a departmental gig. I will be without a car. I love tongue or tripe or sweetbreads in virtually all preps: tacos, Asian tripe soup, Korean gopchang jigae, deli tongue sandwiches, etc. Anything in walking distance of UCLA? It doesn't need to be upscale but it does need sit-down (so not a taco truck). Ideas?

Tsujita on Sawtelle makes my favorite beef tongue dish, it's cut about 3/4 cm thick so not as thin as traditional slices, but it's got a great grilled flavor and the spicy condiment they serve with it
    Compliments it so well.

    I wasn't a fan of Attaris brain,
Didn't try the tongue+brain combo, the spices
Overpowered the flavor of the brain for me

Is Sawtelle walking distance from UCLA? I seem to remember it being a bit further than that.

        It's a bit of a walk at around 2 1/2 to 3 miles.

Or you could take the Big Blue Bus. You can take a bus to Westwood/Olympic and then the 5 runs along Olympic (although I'm not sure if it stops near Sawtelle). At any rate, you can take a look for yourself:

Actually, my one free day is a Monday and they appear to be closed then. Any other ideas?

Fundamental LA sometimes has the sweetbreads.

It's also kind of a sandwich shoppe.
