Ate at Umami Burger, SF at the bar, it seats 10 people. Asked for water.
Got Bacon Wrapped Scallop Burger $15 - it's a small burger, with about 3 small strips of bacon aka pork belly - it was dry & some pieces hard to chew, had to spit it out. Scallop was lots of small scallops somehow smashed together into a patty. I liked that fine. Sauce couldn't taste much of.
I might try other burgers, not in any hurry.
One unisex bathroom in the back - might have to wait! $15 burger + $1.31 tax + SF Employer Mandates .60c = $16.91 before tip. Charged it.
Went to the new B Patisserie shop around 1pm after lunch at Umami Burger. It's at Calif & Divisdero near Tataki.
Since Belinda is making the pastires elsewhere in the beginning stuff has been selling out really quick. I can't wait until she can make the pastries in-house. Most of the stuff have been selling out before 1pm!
Since I got there late I got a slice of Vanilla Cake $7.50 - it was fine, cake a bit dry. I also got a bag of kouign amann ends that look like breadsticks $5.
Charged it. Looks like one unisex bathroom in back on the left & another for baby changing bathroom?
Pastries individuals $6.5; Entremet $40
Tartines - all sandwiches served with a house salad $10.50
Coffee sold here too - didn't see prices, but people got lattes that looked good.
Since I was on Divisadero I decided to check out The Mill. It's on Divisadero near Grove, & on Sundays there's a farmers' market - ends about 2:30pm or so.
They sell toast $3.50-$3.75 a slice, bread loaves $6ea; cookies $2 something, Four Barrel coffee & beans.
Loaf of cranberry walnut $6 - it's tasty bread, I can't stop eating it.
chocolate crinkle cookie with cherries - I thought was just ok over $2.
chocolate hazelnut brownie over $2 - it's thick & rich w/ chunks of hazelnut on top - I liked it.
Nice space, many tables/chairs but hipsters took them all when I was there. There's a small room for The Mill that Josey uses for his bread.
I saw one restroom in the far back.
Yeah, I tried going by B. last Friday at 3 and they were locking the door because they'd sold out everything.
Will have to try Josey's cranberry walnut bread. The regular walnut is delicious. Personally I don't get the toast thing. I don't like thick slices of bread or a lot of butter.
Who's making the brownies and cookies for The Mill?
