Altra Strada

Any advice for navigating the menu at Alta Strada in Wellesley? I can't find any specific recommendations from the recent archives, although some posts suggest that the kitchen has unspecified strengths and weaknesses.

I like it - I work nearby, so have only been for lunch, but it's delicious. Good service, for the most part, and great pastas and salads. Here's a thread that's about 15 mths old, but not much has changed!

It's been a while since I went but I've always found it a solid choice given the other options in the Wellesley/Weston/Needham area (although Sweet Basil in Needham is great).

You can't go wrong with the anti-pasti; lots of solid preps and probably the best stuff on the menu. The mushroom lune is another favorite. I remember finding the wine list rather pricy, but in the half dozen or so times I've been there, the choices have always been good.

Second on the mushroom lune. Seem to remember portion is pretty small, but delicious.

i went once when it first opened. too long ago to recall what i actually ate, but it seemed just like an ok suburban restaurant. a place that succeeds due to lack of viable options. not awful, but certainly not a destination.

Agree completely. Went for lunch last week, food was OK, overall I would say "meh." Maybe not a lot of better options in the area for lunch, although I would say Blue Ginger would be a better choice.
