Family Dining Near Fox Theater

grampart Feb 17, 2013 12:55 PM

Six of us are going to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Fox Theater on March 8th (a Friday) and are looking for something close that has great food. Nothing fancy, not sushi, not ethnic, just good old American food. Also, the show starts at 7:30 so it will be an early dinner. Any info regarding would also be appreciated.

baraonda is very good-- Liningstons is good as well, but i think a little overpriced--itll be less crowded If the shows at 730 get there by 5 and tell them your going to a show.Baraonda has free parking

When you say close do you mean walking close or will you drive?
There are a few threads on this topic, so I would do a search.

I agree that Livingston's is overpriced and also not very good.

When you say "ethnic" would that include Italian? Baraonda is a great, convenient option, but it's not "american".

In walking distance I think you'll enjoy the Cypress St. Pint and Plate.

Also, right next door to the Fox is Publik..a good little pub.

Baraonda it is! I guess I don't consider Italian to be "ethnic". Thanks so much for the rec!

fraom baraonda site --- Our validated parking is at Bank of America building in Midtown Center corner of 3rd and peachtree street). From here turn right on Peachtree St. Parking is about 100 yards on left.
my memeory is that they discounted our parking with 2 free hours when we left

Jerry was in fine form and the early dinner at Baraonda was flawless. Table for 5 ready, excellent waiter, good drinks, best calamari in a long time, fabulous pizza, perfect pasta, and a bite of cannoli with a cup of pretty damn good coffee. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for the heads-up. I wish all recs were as perfect as this one.
