      Oooh. In my hood.

Will it still count as exercise if I cycle over to buy BBQ?

Hell ya. If they have jalapeno cornbread you can count that as a veggie too.
Of course, there's a place in Franklin, Tn we visit that often has Mac n Cheese as a veg of the day. So adjust accordingly.

We would go to The Bagel on College street for our daily veg. They offered a great vegetable platter of potato latkes, knishe, kasha and I forget what else. We knew we were getting our 3 servings!

Found a few articles - seems it's opening at the end of March

Seems Restaurant Takeover was somehow involved (I thought that show took failing spots and made them over?)

That scares me that Restaurant Takeover was somehow involved... I am not a fan of any of the places that I have been to that they were involved with (or, the previous version "Restaurant Makeover")

I don't get it because there's no restaurant to takeover, yet.

I see that they are near Barque smokehouse's hood.I hope M&S make better bbq ribs and are not as pretentious as they are.

How is Barque pretentious? By being unique and creative? It's not their fault that there are few good options in the city. Why should they have to cater to everyone and stay low brow bbq?

It's like the Grand Electric argument that they shouldn't have loud music. Why? Because there are so few options? Not their problem.

Nothing wrong with being unpretentious...there's a lovely bbq place on Dundas a bit west (Phil's?) that is definitely not pretentious and really good.

Besides, who wants a snotty and picky BBQ joint?

Barque is unique I do agree. They are the first pretentious place in toronto to sell bbq.Creative? in their food? Basic bbq fare, with some french mixed in,Italian,Spanish,Mexican, etc, on a plate .Basic veg, meat, starch and desserts. They are not creative enough and some of their smoked meats are not good enough to justify their upscale price,so that's what makes them pretentious .No they don't have to do low brow bbq but bbq has always been low brow.

Spanglo: not sure that Runnymede and Annette is all that close to Lower Roncey -- several miles away. Can`t call it the hood anymore, although they are in West Toronto, like Stockyards, Phils, etc.

I'm with Spanglo - not about pretentious - I don't care about that. But I'm a Q'er, and their rubs were awful, No smoke ring, no flavour. Spoke to the pit master and he explained that they used to smoke them for 5 hours, but found that 2 was enough. NOT!

Will do. Just happened to drive by and notice the sign - they're in the old Butcher by Nature location and from the fb page they are supplied by them, so there must be some connection. Hope it's good because it's within walking distance for me.
