nervous nellie NO trip!

Leaving for NO next Tuesday and really want to make these friends happy! Staying at a B&B Uptown eating at La Petite, Lilette & Gautreau's, Going to the Ogden & shopping on magazine-is there anything I've missed? Drink at the Columns? Is there another good place to go Uptown for a drink & maybe music? Not too funky...these women are not the funky type. Is there maybe a NO "thing" I am forgetting about???HELP, please-thanks in advance!

  1. Be thee not nervous, you have a good list. Yes, include the Columns. If you want music and uptown you need to include Tip's or Maple Leaf. Yes they are funky but they are N.O. and great music venues.(It also depends who is at Tip's as there can be groups that defintely won't fit your party)

If you want less funk then you need to go toward Canal Street and Jeremy Davenport or maybe whoever is at Bombay Club.

I would add Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse in The Royal Sonesta Hotel in the FG as a very high quality music venue that is funk-free. Likewise, Snug Harbor on Frenchmen Street is a sit-down/table-service nightclub that would be comfortable for anyone.

And I completely agree that it is unwise for any NO visitor to steer completely free of funk.

I LOVE the funkier the better but these friends are more refined & don't appreciate the funkier side-ha! Y'all have given me some great places since it has been a long time since I've been Uptown-thanks!

Your are probably close to Ave Pub on St Charles 50 beers on tap good bar food and there hours are 24/365. Love that allways my first stop to get on New Orleans time :)

Are you doing a weekend brunch? Some great selections in/near Uptown, even if you are at a B +B.
