Did anyone attend last year and what did you think of the event?

  1. I went last year. It was horrible. The participating restaurants all served food with bacon. Nothing but bacon. Bacon everywhere. Even bacon cocktails! Who knew there would be nothing but bacon at Baconfest? Disgusting! A total waste of money. Don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you do decide to buy tickets, you had better let me get mine first.

Ha ha ha, yeah there really is no way you could make Baconfest suck. By the way, I did the beer and bacon tasting at Paddy Longs in Lakeview and its great. We're going back at the end of the month for a second round. Same thing, all they served was bacon . . . and then when we wanted some other food like broccoli we went to their standard menu and holy crap, there were more bacon dishes, yeah we got bombed, it was worth it.

Neuske's provides the bacon. At last year's event they served 4,257 pounds of bacon. That's a lot of bacon!!!

...and I ate a good part of that!

      2. Wow, tickets sold out in under an hour. Glad I got 2! First time at this event and I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone else here go to the Cochon 555 event last year. It was awesome. Doing Baconfest this year instead.

        1. I've gone to Baconfest the past two years. While I enjoyed last year's event I thought the 2011 event was a bit better. However, if you've never been, it's a great way to have exposure to many top restaurants in Chicago and have the opportunity to speak with the chefs.
