this is a good idea, although I have not been thrilled at the cleanliness of elks/other lodges - in my experience, the "someone else's problem energy" runs amok. Don't get me wrong, dishes get done because it's generally trackable. But since nobody wants to deep clean the kitchen, it doesn't get done.

I agree. I've done the scouts pancake breakfast and we always leave it much cleaner than we find it.
