Are Paczki's (filled type large donut) available anywhere in Western Suburbs

Today is "Fat Tuesday"and I realize that is a special donut for this, but I also noticed that a site in the MidWest has something called Paczkis. I saw these in two flavors at the local Acme but theirs don't look particularly appealing. Wondering if there is some bakery within 30 minutes of here (Paoli) that might sell them?

  1. The drive to Marian's on Allegheny Ave in Port Richmond is worth the extra 5-10 minutes it might take. Theirs are as good or better than any of the several I tried on a trip to Krakow a few years ago. Baltic Bakery across the street has good stuff too. (Marian's could be sold out by now though - I was there at 9:30 last Thursday, the "other" donut day, and there weren't many left.)

Where on Allegheny is it? I live in Port Richmond, but I didn't grow up here. I don't know where to begin in investigating the Polish specialties.

2615 E Allegheny Ave. It's on the south side just East of Allegheny Square - a few blocks from Richmond St.

A few blocks towards Aramingo or towards the river?

Thanks for the information. Will have to go there sometime.

      3. Oh my gosh Faye thanks so much for posting this. I'm no help but somehow I got distracted and forgot today was faschnaut day. I went charging over to Yum Yum like a maniac and they still had faschnauts! Thanks for saving the day. I'll keep my eyes peeled for those paczkis

        1. seems like MerryMead farms in Lansdale had packzis - and cider donuts. they posted something on their facebook page about it yesterday.
