Detroit Prime closed (DTW)
"Restaurateur Matt Prentice closed his Detroit Prime steakhouse in Farmington Hills. The restaurant, which is closing because of lack of business, opened in August and aimed to capture customers by offering USDA prime steaks at an affordable price. Prentice's other restaurant, Morels, will remain open. Morels is next to Detroit Prime at 32729 Northwestern Highway."

So...that was *very* fast. I've actually got an unused Groupon that I'll now have to get either a refund or a credit for, since it's now useless. I have to say that every time I viewed the menu, I wondered what, exactly, they were trying to accomplish. Many of the dishes seemed downright strange, and overpriced considering the cuts of meat they were trying to emphasize. As well, the things I read about the experiences at DP were less than enthusiastic. For a place as large at it is, such things don't bode well.
I certainly hope that Morels is doing better.

I concur. Way too many other restaurants offering beef at
that price point.
I am astonished that they were unable to solve the
reported kitchen & service problems.
That stretch of NW Hwy seems to be jinxed.
