Going to be in the Amador area for a couple days doing some wine tasting...any good places to dine?

I'm heading up in a couple of weeks - any other suggestions for food (picnic food, casual and fancy) and wineries? Staying near Drytown.

Any experiences with Drytown cellars and Incahoots?

I'm looking in particular for wineries that have good white wines, an updated spot for picnic supplies (now that Amador Vintage Market has closed), and if anyone has been to Incahoots lately. Thanks!!

Maya, this is sad news. Do you have any details? Is it temporary?

I have no idea, I read it on this board but it was an old post. It looks like they still have some services but it's unclear whether they're in full swing. I will check it out and report back!

Amador Vintage Market is still open from 10:00 to 6:00 Sundays through Thursdays, and across the street is the relatively new restaurant Taste which you can research through www.restauranttaste.com. It has been favorably reviewed by many.

Fairplay Bistro is good. In the heart of wine country. Their duck is particularly tasty. Don't expect French Laundry- but the area is just not as developed. Fun place to visit and the wineries aren't nearly as crowded as Napa.

If the weather is pleasant, lunch on the patio at Susan's Place would be an excellent choice. The food is fresh and creative and the wine list is extensive. Lunch is served Thursday - Sunday. Susan's Place is a half block off the main street in Sutter Creek. Their website is Susansplace.com
