Going to do the Carmel/Napa/SF for honeymoon in late April...working in the Carmel part now...Here is what I have and just need a little help. Flying in from Alabama...

Get into SFO at noon on Saturday...I figure best case get into Carmel around 4. Havent decided which route to take to Carmel. (Any suggestions or places for a quick lunch would be appreciated).

Staying at Tickle Pink Inn Saturday night and Sunday night, then moving on to Napa Monday.

Herein lies my problem - They are running the marathon that weekend, so ole Hwy 1 is closed Sunday 6am til 1pm (our only full day there).........

Is it feasible to leave Tickle Pink at 1, drive to Post Ranch and eat lunch at Sierra Mar, drive back and do the 17 mile drive and have sunset drinks and watch the bagpiper at Spanish Bay? is it too rushed? From what I can tell the sunsets about 7:40 then, so not sure when he will really play. I seem to think the plan will work - but if not, I need to revamp.

Also - need one romantic "first night of honeymoon meal" - Was thinking Casanova. Perfer cozy warm atmosphere to slick and modern. Good food but do not want a 3 hour fancy presentation.

Had Cantinette Luca on the list as a casual dinner if we'd rather be casual. Also looking at Christopher's on Lincoln.

Any input would be appreciated!

  1. If I were on my honeymoon, I would love Casanova for a romantic dinner. Let them know when you make the reservation and they will take good care of you! Their food is wonderful and the ambiance there always feels very intimate to me.

    1. Casanova!!!! Your honeymoon sounds alot like ours a few years ago.
