Singapore - Pen Cai (盆菜) on 2nd Day of Chinese New Year

Family dinner this evening - one of the dishes we had was the "pen cai" (盆菜) or "poon choi", a Hakka-style stew of abalone, chicken, roast pork, sea cucumber, prawns, scallops, Napa cabbage, "choy sum" vegetables, broccoli, fish maw, yam, button mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, beancurd sheets, dried oysters and "fatt choy" (black moss).

  1. That looks pretty good. I always like Tien Court but i think their chefs keep changing so the standards of cooking also tend to go up and down.
