Well at least he wasnt fired. Stateside is fantastic but the service blows, his food deserves better (and more seats). Also not a fan of the cocktails. Hopefully he has better service at his own place, sounds like the bar will be similar.

I hope the replacement can fill his shoes... would be a shame to lose a restaurant of this caliber on Passyunk Ave.

I'm hoping he'll stay on the Avenue, there are some spaces he could move into. The food at Stateside was pretty good as soon as they opened and it's gotten steadily better over time, last time I was there it was better than ever, on par with Fond and Will.

Passyunk Ave is getting awfully saturated. fishtown could use a place like Stateside but his ambitions could be for a totally different type of restaurant.

Agree with Barryg. But the saturation on Passyunk might be beneficial for foot traffic and such. I visited Lloyds whiskey bar in Fishtown this weekend and that area would be perfect for Sabatino with the hipsters filling the area.
