VALENTINES DAY: LOS ANGELES RESTAURANTS
need some restaurant recommendations (hopefully it's not too late)
i don't want anything that is CRAZY expensive, just something nice and casual will be coo
i made reservations at Animal but it's at 10:30
so do you guys have any good places to recommend for a guy that's not from here?
and what are some fun things to do after?

Manchego in Santa Monica is a nice little Spanish tapas place with darkened lighting and a great 'couples' ambiance. Even better, they allow BYOB and do not charge corkage. Bring some great champagne for your meal. Tapas make a great casual 'sharing' meal.
Afterwards, head out to the beach, stop by the pier, etc.
Or you could always buzz over to the Griffith Park Observatory for star gazing.

Last I heard (a couple days ago) both Josie's and Il Grano had availability.
Afterwards? Take your lover home, light up the fireplace, then shower her with red roses and gifts of jewelry and lingerie. And plenty of champagne and caviar.
And then make love.
Not terribly original, but there's a reason why it works.

Or change things up a bit and go with Bill Murray's seduction technique in Stripes..."The Aunt Jemima Treatment" http://themodernsavage.com/2010/10/06... ("Aunt Jemima" in an effort to keep this as Chow-centric as possible)
