Barbara Lynch's Blizzard Bash

How ironic. Not sure I'd want to get all gussied up to attend this high priced celebrity chef and mixologist fundraiser.

What a nightmare.

  1. I wonder if it will be/has been postponed?

    1. The weather really conspired to screw up a big, complex event, with dozens of guest celebrity chefs and bartenders coming in from all over the country. I hope it doesn't hurt the charitable output of the event too much. A shame.

      1. It has been postponed to Sat - the ticket purchase page says that.

Oh good, I'm glad. She was in the Herald today saying they would still do it tonight. Tomorrow will be much more festive. What a logistical nightmare.

        2. Why is this a nightmare? It just looks like many other charity benefits, only with much better food.

the logistics of deciding to go on as planned, the logistics of finding rooms and car service, the logistics of staff, the logistics of visiting chefs, the logistics of holding food until tomorrow night. Trust me if you had planned this event with chefs flying in you would have been in logistical hell the past 24 hours.

Makes me want to go tomorrow night!

I guess the good news is that since no one can travel, all the visiting chefs will be in town to cook tonight. Hope people who planned to attend can get there. It's still snowing and blowing like crazy here in Lexington.

          2. I'd love to get all gussied up and go to this high priced celebrity chef and mixologist fundraiser but it is a bit too high priced for me right now. Maybe next year. Sounds amazing to me. I hope they can regroup for tomorrow night.

            1. according to the news just now, there will be no mbta service at all today and the driving ban remains in effect until further notice.

unless people are walking to no. 9, how will they get there?

if they discount the price a bit, i will happily walk 3 miles from Cambridge to make it there :)
