I finally got the chance to try this place. I had really high hopes, but sadly, I have to agree with Bobby Wham. Though the burger was somewhat juicy, the beef was way too finely ground and tightly packed, which made it a bit of a tough chew. There was little to no crust from the griddle, and the patty had a vaguely off-putting flavour that tells me they're using not-so-great beef. It's absolutely not in the same ballpark as a place like Burger's Priest, despite the fact that they're going for the same style of burger.

This place is soooo bad. Dry meat puck on a way oversized bun, ridiculously salty, the greens were limp and the cheese was not melted. never going back, i give this place 6 months. This place is so far beneath Priest, Holy Chuck, etc, I would rather eat a Square Boy or Johnny's pre-frozen-to-grill burger.

So, I went for lunch today, and I have to say that it was really good.
The burgers are made on a griddle and they're flat-pressed. My friend had the Sergeant Burger with fries and gravy, and I had the AK Veggie-7 Burger with onion rings and a vanilla shake.
My friend said that her burger was one of the best burgers she's ever had. It was juicy, flavourful and seasoned perfectly. The fries were hand cut, crispy, and seasoned nicely as well. They were really yummy.
As for the veggie burger, if you're looking for a veggie burger that's full of grains, lentils, and chunks of vegetables, you're going to be disappointed. But, if you're looking for a veggie burger that tastes like you're eating a hamburger, you're going to love this version. I had mine with sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms and a fried egg. It also came with "guacamole", which wasn't really guacamole but some sort of green liquid. That actually, would be my only quibble. Other than that, the food was great, and the guys running the place were super nice!

Replaces "Big Chubby Burgers"...
I thought I read that Burger Bar down the street was still running under new ownership but then saw in the "closing" thread that is is closed..
Anyway did read the BlogTo article in full.. I don't have much faith in their "reviews" but I usually post links to them so people can see the pics... I was going to post about this spot in the Openings forum but you beat me to it :)

re: ylsf
When the sale of Burger Bar was announced it was stated that a) the new owner bought the rights to the name but did necessarily plan to retain the menu or any of the staff,b) they planned to close for renovations immediately and a reopening date was unknown.
So some kind of burger joint will probably re-open in that space eventually but who knows what it will be like.
