can a party of one buy a Next ticket
I'm coming to Chicago in March and will be alone. A test run of the Next online ticketing gave no option for less than two people. I know they sometimes have room for walk-ins but is there no way to buy a ticket for one?

There are no tables for one. Only 2, 4, and 6. You cannot purchase a table for 1. Better to join someone's table via Facebook and maybe make some new friends?
Also the walk in tables don't really exist. It is more like if the service hasn't been too stressful and the kitchen decides to do another table or two at the end of the night. This is how it was explained to us at the end of November 2011. We tried to get a walk in table and failed after about four hours.

re: kathryn
As another twist on kathryn's suggestion about joining someone's table via Facebook, you could purchase a table for 2 and then offer one of the tickets on Facebook. The risk is that no one accepts your offer, so you could wind up paying for two dinners there. But you'll still be able to eat there.
