Saint Sushi Bar on Duluth near St-Denis

Back from lunch at my new favourite sushi place. They've only been open 3 weeks so while we were mulling the menu the chef says, you could tell me how much you want to spend and I'll make you something. How could we refuse? Nothing better than personalized sushi.

Going with their lunch special price of $15 each (taxes incl.), we started with a plate of sashimi and thin green apple slices in a lovely vinegarette. Next came a plate of maki named after the music playing in the restaurant, i.e. the Bob Marley roll, as well as a very delicious Madonna roll and a Sensei roll with rice paper. We also sampled a few pieces of tuna and salmon sushi, and the chef's trademark dish, the sapin de noel which I'd tasted when passing by to grab a take out menu one day. It's a tartare with caviar and lobster (or other fish) piled high into the form of a tree on a crunch rice cracker. Very addictive.

Anyway, thought you hounds would enjoy knowing there is yet another great Asian option in the hood, and this is a nice change from the carb heavy meals along Duluth. Super friendly service and no liquor license so drink your sake before you leave the house.

  1. My wife and I have tried most of the sushi here and we love how great everything tastes! The owner/chef is super friendly and you can tell how proud he is of his food...and with good reason. We also love their Christmas tree appetizers and often pick them up to eat at home when we don't feel like cooking after a long day. I find at some sushi restaurants, all their sushi tastes very similar - I am happy to say this is not the case at Saint Sushi. Looking forward to going back again and again!
