Stuck finding Saturday Afternoon Date Ideas

offthebeatenpath1 Feb 6, 2013 06:01 PM

I am planning a 2nd date for Saturday afternoon and am trying to find a place that is a bit adventurous, but also someplace where we can take our time and linger a bit after the meal (and perhaps have a cocktail either there or nearby). Somewhere near any of the L train stops is ideal. I am open to cuisines and price-range, but someplace that has a rustic but intimate atmosphere would be great.

I know I am being a bit broad. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I love an afternoon at the bar of Otto, ordering small plates of formaggi, affetati, salumi, paired with quartinos of esoteric wines. All served by very affable and knowledgeable 'Dennis'. Wont be crowded around 3.

I'm thinking of the bar at Maialino, which is open all day. Or brunch in the restaurant, then over to the bar area afterwards.

My husband and I had a late lunch there a few months ago and lingered for quite awhile. Very pleasant, looking out over the park...

Check out Gramercy Tavern (the bar room), I think it hits all your points and it's a great place to spend an afternoon.
