Kabobs Indian Grill - Bloomington

My wife and I just went to Kabobs in Bloomington, located in the Town & Country strip mall on the SW corner of 494 and Portland Avenue. I'd been there a few years ago but didn't remember it being this good. Mrs. GutGrease had the curried chicken while I had the Chicken Khorma. The staff also brought out a complimentary plate of the Tikka Marsala. Everything was fantastic and I ate waaay too much.

I'm posting this because it looks like the kind of business that needs better support to stay in business. The only other reference that I found on Chowhound was this post from last year:

"Kabobs in Bloomington - our department had a very small budget for a department picnic. I shopped around and chose Kabobs because I have eaten there many times and the price was very good."

  1. Thanks for posting this! My husband and I were regulars right after they opened, since we lived in Bloomington at the time. Since then we moved and it became inconvenient to head all the way over there- then in casual conversation a friend mentioned they had a change in ownership and went seriously downhill. We took his word and never bothered to follow up. Maybe we'll need to stop back in and verify for ourselves.

    1. The food was outstanding and the lady working tables was very nice. Of course, I don't get too uptight about the little things but the sodas she brought out to us were room temperature cans. Sure it's a service issue but the curries were fantastic and so were the meats. It's a dumpy little place but who cares, the food is good.

      Give it a shot

Funny...canned soda is one of the reasons I will never go to Matt's Bar again. I understand a food truck, but not a restaurant. Also selling fries seperately is a lame way to rip people off. GO NOOK!

Does soda taste more fresh in a glass?

Nope. Refills. I generally am not a huge soda person but when I am eating a greesy burger and fries sometimes 12 oz (with no ice) isn't as refreshing. Especially when its the same cost as any restaurants fountain drink.

I know I am not the only one that feels that way, although surely not the majority as they still serve cans.
