This weekend in food
Does anyone know of any SD food events happening this Saturday or have some thoughts on great Saturday activities you plan when you have visitors in town? I’m probably looking more for a multi-venue, Saturday fatter day type of reco, than a tasting menu type of experience. But, anything goes with this group – walk abouts, biking around, cabs, shorts, sports coats, etc. – so any thoughts are welcome.
Friday, we are going to the Grant Grill or Cowboy Star for happy hour >Broadway Pier for the Winter Brewfest> Starlite for late-night snacks.
Saturday - <hits head against wall, draws blank> Maybe we should do a “relleno crawl” on Saturday so I can post some content for the dish of the month thread ;)
Sunday, we are weighing two choices: The Taste of the Market event at the SD Public Market or the rooftop Crawfish Boil at Saltbox downtown. The chef line-up at the Market looks pretty solid, but clocks in at $85 a head. The crawfish boil is AYCE + your first beer (Abita) and is $20 a person – can anyone chime in on Saltbox?
Thoughts? Thanks.

You can always do the water taxi over to Coronado from the Gaslamp and party it up and pub crawl from the brewery, Leroy's, Candelas, Sapori, Mc P's (hangout for the SEALS) and Danny Palms...excellent cheeseburger!
Great Segway tours around the island.Personally, I would not spend $85 per person on any rooftop event (nothing personal)..isn't it supposed to rain this weekend?

re: Stiflers_Mom
Sounds like fun..visitors love being out on the water and this is a great way to showcase our lovely city.
You can toast me when everyone is screaming 'this is the best day ever'..
Back in the Gaslamp, hitting up Basic for pizza or everyday happy hour at the Omni McCormick and Schmicks in the bar..drinks at the Top of the Hyatt to finish off the day.

There's a wine country tour that you can go on this Saturday.
http://thingstodo.utsandiego.com/san_...If that's too involved, there's always the Little Italy Farmers Market on Sat 8-2 p.m.
