Carb-loading in DC?

Hi all,

Myself and a group of maybe 10 people are looking for a good spot to carb-load on the Friday night before the DC rock n' roll half marathon. We are staying at Hotel George. Nearby is great, but we'd be willing to travel around the city for a good spot.

Any suggestions? Ideally the spot would be a casual setting, easy access to metro, and ability to take a larger group on a Friday night. We thought we should try to make a reservation now if possible.

Thanks for any/all help!

The Hamilton. For before AND after. It is near Metro Center, has a huge variety of foods, is casual and fun, and can handle large groups:

Certainly reservations for a group that size is a good idea. Not necassarily close to your hotel, but right off of the red line (which is close to your hotel) is Dino. This is a good neighborhood rustic Italian spot. I believe there is a table upstairs that could fit a group your size.

I've never been, but it seems as if Carmine's would be a good place for you. I hear good things about their food. I also know the meals are served family style and are HUGE so you all will get plenty to eat.

          +2 on Carmine's.

It's also a favorite spot of Chief Justice Roberts.
