Santarpios Peabody

What are peoples thoughts on the Peabody location? Friend of mine who lives up there says its just as good. I am sure hounders will say not. But there is a convenience factor too.

I've been several times, will never go back, the chow is no where near their Eastie location. Conveinence means nothing if the food is not worthy.

The oven is different,no? That alone would make it pretty impossible for the locations to be =

I've only been there a few times. The first couple of times I thought the pizza was great..different than what I was used to. After a couple of visits however..the novelty wore off. Plus, the problem is that when on route 1..there are too many other tempting places.

The pizza in Eastie must be very different since people rave so much about it. I know there are at least 6 other places I would visit for pizza before I would go back to Santarpio's in Peabody.

I've only been to the Eastie one once, but I've been to the Peabody locations many times and it consistently serves excellent pizzas (especially their homemade sausage) and by far the best pizza on the North Shore. However, you need to eat it there, and not because of the ambiance. This pizza has to be eaten immediately out of the oven. It won't even travel 10 minutes well.

Agreed that it must be eaten immediately. I've eaten there (Eastie) many times and the pizza is always starting to suffer by the end of the meal. Most pizza is like this to some degree but this one especially so.

That explains why the couple of times I got it "to go"..the quality was definitely not the same.

We went once when it first opened and we never went back even though it's fairly close to our house. We don't even have to go on Rt. 1 we can go back roads and we won't go again.

There are much better pizzas in the area.

Skip it and go to Angela's Coal Fired Pizza instead.

Agree with the Angela's suggestion. Santarpios has been inconsistent with the few times I have been there. If you are in Peabody there are three places that needs to be on your radar: Royal Garden for the Mai Thais, Champions Pub for the Steak Tips and Pellana which to me is Abe and Louie's - North Shore
