  1. The funniest one was my husband. He woke me up by talking in his sleep:
"No! Not that one! The *other* one*!" was pretty good, but I loved the next one,
"NO! The penguin gets the pizza!!" He sounded so indignant! And there was so much stress on "penguin"; very "You are such an idiot!" I had to stuff blankets into my mouth so I wouldn't wake him up laughing. I asked him the next morning, but he never was able to remember what he was dreaming about at the time.

    1. i want to post about another thread I was on and say that I have drempt a full on chow chat conversation in my sleep. But mostly I am posting this in anticipation of the hysterical stories that are sure to be posted here. Good thread alliegator

      1. I'm not much of a dreamer, so I'm hoping to get my chuckles from others. Besides cooking and serving a meal that I don't remember at all because of a concussion, I have nothing to offer.

Oh holy cat. Lucky you didn't cut off a digit or offend a guest. My best friend has cooked muffins and a cake in her sleep but that was ambien induced

Jeezus, she's the lucky one. At least I was actually concious. I'm sure her cake was, um, very purty :/
            Alright---let's hear some silly dreams!

It was green. She swirled in green food dye. :-)

I can only imagine. If somebody gave me a sleeping pill and nudged me into the kitchen, they'd probably get a multicolored 4 ft croqucambouch layered with bacon and swiss cheese with a delicate sprinkle of chopped cilantro. Or something like it.

        2. IIRC, an old boyfriend was rather indignant that I said "No, it's Stu" several times in my sleep. I had to tell him I was telling someone that "It's not soup. No, it's Stew!"

And I *know* I've had dreams about cooking alongside famous chefs, but I can't recall them, other than remembering I was very very nervous. Anthony Bourdain was one of them - and he was very nice to me. This was in a home kitchen, so perhaps that's why. Or maybe it's because I call him my boyfriend. Who knows? ;-)

Oh, he's you're boyfriend? Well, that would make you almost my aunt! In my house, he's referred to as "Uncle Tony" because I'm convinced I'm related to him somehow, and my mom swears she's never met him ;)

          2. It wasn't that long ago that I had a very vivid dream about eating a sandwich at a local restaurant. I had finished the sandwich and was enjoying a beer, but I was definitely going to order cheese fries. Then I woke up.

I was so disappointed. I really wanted those cheese fries or, at least, to dream about having those cheese fries. So I tried to go back to sleep and pick up my dream where it left off, which sometimes works but didn't this time.

For dinner that evening you better believe I went there and ordered myself some cheese fries.
